Chatham Transit bus riders

Transportation is available to the general public in Siler City from 8 AM until 4:30 PM each weekday. This service is a demand/response, from curb to curb, meaning that to request a ride, you MUST call or fill out our online request form and if Chatham Transit can accommodate your request, we will pick you up.

The average pick up time for same day service is 15 minutes, but the nature of transportation is such that we cannot give an exact time for pick-up and drop-off.

If you have an appointment or need to be somewhere at an exact time please call 24 hours in advance to book your trip. Please be ready one hour before your scheduled pick up time.

Chatham Transit is in the process of evaluating this service to become more efficient and to be able to serve more people. We believe this can be achieved through fixed route, scheduled service with established bus stops. We plan to convert to this service at the beginning of the second quarter 2010.
