CTN - Transit System Operations Manager
Chatham Transit Network is seeking qualified candidates for their Operations Manager position.
Transit System Operations Manager: Chatham Transit Network (CTN) is a consolidated transportation system operating in Chatham County, North Carolina. Chatham Transit Network serves all of Chatham County including the municipalities within its borders. Chatham County is a rural county located near the center of North Carolina encompassing 707 square miles. This is a full time, salary position.
Job Summary: The Operations Manager is responsible for managing the daily operations of Chatham Transit Network, including the direct supervision of the operators, dispatcher/scheduler, driver trainer and dispatcher. Responsibilities also include oversight of the system’s safety program and training program as well as overseeing the fleet maintenance, drug and alcohol program and scheduling driver shifts.
Qualifications: An associate degree in business, public administration or related field preferred with three to five years management in public or general transportation. A combination of management or transportation experience and/or education may be substituted. This position requires strong supervisory skills and excellent organization and interpersonal skills. The successful candidate must be able to maintain good employee relations and communicate effectively with customers and stakeholders.
Seeking candidate with the following characteristics:
- Personnel management and supervisory skills.
- Three to five years of experience in operating a transportation system.
- Experience with safety programs, employee training, and drug and alcohol program oversight.
